I've been wanting to make my keg freezer an actual proper setup for kegging. I've not really had much reason to do so in recent years, even though I've gotten items from the wife and others to do it. Mostly this is because we've moved so often over the last few years that it just seemed a bit too hard. That probably goes along with the thought process of why I haven't been really making beer much in that time either. However, now that we are stable and finally settled down, I feel that it is a great time to do that.
I've also been making my own seltzer water and kegging that. Having the better keg freezer setup would be a lot easier to dispense more than 1 beverage at a time, vs needing to switch the stupid party tap back and forth. We've already gone through 5 gallons of that stuff in a few weeks and I've had to make more. I see my CO2 canister needing to be refilled more often now!
I've also recently brewed and have had kegged the Spiced American Wheat Ale. That turned out better than I expected and basically nailed both the OG and FG, which I was honestly a bit surprised with, since I've not brewed in a while and I'm still not 100% happy with my system. But clearly the system is dialed in pretty well. A buddy of mine has tried one of my brews for the first time and is happy with the end result. Of course part of that is free beer and who can really be disappointed about that!
My next thoughts go more towards a few different directions. I know its finally getting out of summer (not a heat and humidity fan, that's why we moved to N.E.). So that leads me to Pumpkin Pie Cream Ale and that sounds amazing! Though I've not tried this one, but it gets good reviews. I also am thinking of the Apple cider recipe I made years ago, when I first started and it seems like maybe a good time to do that. But then you also have Oktoberfest and who can NOT do a good Oktoberfest beer! So many options and I've really still not fully gotten back into it, so it seems a bit challenging to justify all these brews.
But this might be a good way of kick starting the passion again and a good time to start getting into the fall spirit!
